When I was in the seventh grade, my teacher asked me to try to draw a picture looking downhill. It was a problem in perspective that my untutored self could not solve, but ever since I have noticed landscape paintings with views looking downward. That’s why I had the more talented and trained Jeanette paint the Jernagans’ farm at Pont Aven from the orchard above. It also made me pick out this particular scene from this morning’s post on Gauguin and snow at It’s About Time>.
