It must have been difficult for these nannies to wear such heavy uniforms during the summer. Even their female charges had to wear high-buttoned shoes in hot weather.
I won "Where the Light Falls" in a book contest through author Deanna Raybourn's blog. I vividly remember so many scenes from the book. I sometimes have to deal with all sorts of temperaments in the area of the arts I'm in doing competitive ballroom dancing. Thanks for being such a wonderful storyteller. I look forward to reading your next book. Thanks, Pat
