One of my Christmas Eve Eve rituals is to read The Mousehole Cat. To my delight I have just found a YouTube video on The Making of The Mousehole Cat Book with interviews of author Antonia Barber, illustrator Nicola Bayley, and art director Chris Prior who was in charge of animation for a video version. It shows the handwritten manuscript, Bayley at work with her paints, and the computer techniques used to bring the book to the screen. Stories, art, and technology in their service—what better way to bolster our spirits?
